Greetings in the Marvelous Name of our SAVIOUR the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!

Ga 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Col 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

I have spent a good part of this week in my personal devotions looking at these verses. Right at the beginning I want to say that if all of these things came natural, the Spirit of God would not have told us to do this. These are not suggestions for us as Christians, but rather commands for us to live by. We are to individually and passionately put these on.

1) Put on the whole armour of God
When studying the Word of God we must ask ourselves questions. This helps us in our daily walk. It helps us to see where we are. Christians find themselves getting use to sin. I know that sounds like a paradox because we call ourselves Christians but yet put up with sin in our lives. We sugar coat it and make it out to be possibly a mistake or a mistep. We all must come clean before God and say the same thing He says about our life. You may ask, "Preacher what are you getting to?" Thanks for asking! If the scripture says we are to put on something and we don't then what is that called? I will give you a hint, DISOBEDIENCE! Well, maybe I gave you a little more than a hint but it's so true. Again, these principles in the Word of God are commands that we must take literally and clothe ourselves with these different pieces. Are we clothed with the whole armour of God? Have we by faith put on each piece of this mighty armour where with we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the devil? Wow! What a mighty truth we find in this text!

2) Put on the new man
When were born again the scripture declares that we are a new man. It's not that we have a new body yet, that's coming soon, it's that we are new creatures in Christ. We have a new life, a new talk, a new walk, a new attitude, a new home, a new hope, a new glory, a new friend, a new church, a new outlook, simply a new everything. Could someone please say AMEN!!!!!

3) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Look at all these things the scripture ask us to put on. Have you ever thought if each of us really lived out the truths of these passages how much better a world we would live in. Let's get personal with this. How bout our local churches that we are a part of. I have learned from being in the ministry for 20 years that very few people really live out the truths of these passages. I have been treated worse by so called church people before than I have by the world. The Lord says, put on all these things. Put on means to be clothed with, or to sink into clothing. Are we clothed with all these things today? As I type I'm saying to me not you, Lord help me to be clothed with each of these. It's a decision of the will that I will choose to be clothed with these things that honor God not something else that does not honor God.

4) Put on Charity
He says above all these things put on charity. We know we can do everything right and have everything in the world and not have charity and we are nothing. The God of Heaven must help us to be loving, kind, Christians. If your reading these words and you have been born again were new creatures in Christ. May each of us act like it and keep short accounts with our God. When the Holy Ghost convicts you of something get it right then not later. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

May God encourage each of us to live out these truths daily in our lives.

A Servant for Christ
